Clean out things that steal.

Day 4

Today’s Scripture:

Matthew 21:12-13  Upon entering Jerusalem Jesus went directly into the temple area and drove away all the merchants who were buying and selling their goods. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the stands of those selling doves. And he said to them, “My dwelling place will be known as a house of prayer, but you have made it into a hangout for thieves!” T.P.T

Thought for Today:

As I was looking at today’s scripture it reminded me somewhat of the 21 day journey we have started. Jesus “cleanses” the temple. He cleans out things that steal or distract from the temples true purpose. 1 Corinthians 3:16 states, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”  As we set these 21 days apart to the Lord we are giving opportunity for a cleansing of sorts within our lives from distractions and things that might be “stealing” our time, talent, gifting, and intimacy with the Father.  We are cleaning out and making room for greater sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s leading.  Continue to believe and be expecting for greater growth and awareness of the Holy Spirit’s presence within your life. I also want to encourage you to continue protecting your time with the Lord. If you forget or miss a day or days don’t allow shame or guilt to beat you down. Move ahead, remembering that God is for you not against you (Rom. 8:31). The Lord delights in your giving of yourself to Him. You are doing great.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for this opportunity and privilege to spend time with You. What a wonderful word knowing that You are truly for me and not against me. That You rejoice over me and love spending time with me. Father, reveal Yourself more and more to me. I want to know You better and more closely than I ever have before. Thank You for Your great love for me. Thank You for believing in me and thank You for never giving up on me.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Make it a great day and remember, “Why Not You?”
