Praying for the Lost
In the prior months we have looked at ways to enhance our prayer lives. This month we are going to look at praying for the lost. Most of this material comes from Andrew Womacks book The Believers Authority. Our Lord has such a love for each lost individual. He desires them to be in relationship with Him even more than we want them to know Him. We are familiar with John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God, through Jesus, made provision for each human being to come to Him. All we have to do is accept Jesus as Lord of our lives.
Unfortunately, we all know people who have rejected the opportunity to be in relationship with Jesus. They may feel it is unnecessary saying, hell is not real. When you die that is the end. Or another worldly concept is that the individual is a good person. There is no need for a Savior. At the root of all of these premises the great deceiver, Satan, has blinded the understanding of these lost people.
In the Truth Project, they describe these precious lost souls as POWs. Prisoners of War held captive with the shackles of lies. So what can we do in our prayer times to assist the captive in being free? This list is by no means comprehensive but will certainly push back the enemys encroachment in the lives of our lost friends and family.
• Begin to pray that laborers will cross these lost ones paths and preach the gospel to them.
• Decree and declare that everywhere they go the gospel message is being declared to them.
For example, as they watch TV somehow the gospel is proclaimed. The radio station brings the message of hope in Christ. Their magazines, papers, billboards and internet connections bring the Good News to them.
• Pray that the Holy Spirit will bring to their remembrance the words God has already spoken to them. (John 14:26) This verse reminds us that the Holy Spirit is the teacher and brings to their remembrance all things.
• If you can speak to this person, do so. Ask for clarity, boldness, and revelation knowledge.
God moves through the earth through his people. (Ephesians 3:20)
• In faith, command the demonic blindness and hardened heart to be gone in Jesus name. Since a person has free will they can negate this prayer. So, you will need to continue to do this until this precious soul accepts Jesus as Lord.
• Ezekiel 36:26, 27 is a favorite prayer to speak into the life of someone after you have commanded the demonic blindness and hardened heart to be gone. And I will give you a new heart-I will give you new and right desires (Insert name of lost person)-I will put a new spirit within you. I will take out your stony hearts of sin and give you new hearts of love. And I will put my Spirit within you so that you will obey my laws and do whatever I command.
• 2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord will deliver ______________ from every evil work and preserve__________ for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever.
• Hold the Blood of Jesus over this lost person. The enemy knows the perfect Blood of Jesus applied in faith upon the individual stops his deceptive hold. Revelation 12:11 tells us, And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. The Blood of Jesus brings God's eternal and complete resources upon the scene.

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved and if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9).
You said my salvation would be the result of Your Holy Spirit giving me new birth by coming to live in me (John 3:5-6, 15-16; Romans 8:9-11) and that if Iwould ask, You would fill me with Your Spirit and give me the ability to speak with other tongues (Luke 11:13; Acts 2:4).
I take You at Your word. I confess that Jesus is Lord. And I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead. Thank you for coming into my heart, for giving me Your Holy Spirit as You have promised, and for being Lord over my life.
Amen.
